The Sanyo SCP 5300 (Sprint) Cell Phone

Two generations from the Sanyo SCP 5000 and a host of new features later, the 5300 is a pretty impressive cell phone. Now with a 65k color display, built in camera (with flash) and a sharp design, this mobile phone-camera hybrid is definitely worth taking a second look at.

Not the most compact of cell phones, the Sanyo SCP 5300 isn't too shabby and it is still slim enough to fit in a small purse or your pocket. When you open up this flip phone you'll see a great display screen. It's eye catching not because of the colors, but because of its creative yet user friendly menu interface. It's graphics oriented which makes it easy and intuitive to use.

When it comes to features this cell phone is pretty packed with them. Normal highlights include a phone book with 300 contacts, voice activated dialing, caller ID, text messaging, voicemail and of course, wireless web access for all your internet surfing needs from Spring Wireless's next-generation network. The Sanyo SCP 5300 cell phone is also compatible with the Sprint PCS Business Connection service so you'll be able to receive corporate email and view your calendar on your phone. If I had to say that something was lacking ‘I would have really liked for this phone to include infrared. Sadly it doesn't so I'll just have to rely on the Sprint wireless network.

After all that though, the main feature of the Sanyo SCP 5300 cell phone is it's VGA digital camera. You will be able to take pictures at 3 different settings, use the in-built flash to take great pictures, use the phone's self timer to take a picture of yourself and adjust your picture's white-balance and color-tone. The mobile phone's camera also has a zoom in option to give your pictures more clarity and focus.

There are no complaints about the battery life of this cell phone except that if you take a lot of photos and do a lot of uploading and downloading, the battery will die. However this is expected and the battery performs fairly well otherwise. With the Sprint network, reception was also great on the Sanyo SCP 5300 and my friend said she didn't even know I was on a cell phone!

A camera phone really doesn't get any better than the Sanyo SCP 5300. Great quality and design, this is the phone to look out for.
