The LG G4050 (Cingular Wireless) Cell Phone

An upgrade from the G4010, the LG G4050 is still the basic phone. Did LG decide to take the minimalist approach or is this mobile just lacking? Either way, the pricing of the G4050 is fairly attractive, especially when you couple it with a discount from Cingular Wireless.

A really slim and light phone it fits almost all to well into your pocket or purse. But despite its size, it was surprisingly comfortable to hold up to the ear during calls. The LG G4050 cell phone also comes with a gorgeous 65k color display screen. It's a little hard to see in direct sunlight but that's just a minor complaint. LG has also redesigned its navigation keys and it gets two thumbs up. All controls are well spaced and tactile plus there's plenty of room for you to customize your own shortcuts.

The LG G4050 cell phone is really an entry level mobile so it wont exactly blow you away. The basic features in the phone include a 200-entry phone book, 8 speed dial locations, voice activated dialing, conference calling and its also WAP enabled. Aside from GPRS, you'll also have wireless connection via the phone's handy infrared port. On the more fun side, the G4050 cell phone is capable of MMS so any animations you wish to download from the Cingular website can be shared with your friends.

The LG G4050 didn't seem to handle calls very well. Whether it's a problem with the phone or the Cingular Wireless connection I'm not so sure. There were random occasions when I had a full signal strength but I could still hear some hissing in the background. This was truly annoying. However talk time on the mobile was exceptionally good and it even exceeded my expectations. This is truly a good starter phone for those who are just looking for an easy to use communications device. And might I just look say, it looks good to boot!
